Comparison of Different Materials of Nozzles

Spray nozzles are made of a variety of materials. Here is a comparison of the use of several common materials:

1- Stainless steel: 

This material is used in spraying systems for its durability and corrosion resistance. However, its installation can be challenging, and the costs are generally higher compared to other alternative materials.

2- Brass: 

Known for its corrosion resistance, brass is widely used in spraying systems, which in turn helps to lower production expenses.

3- Plastic: 

Nylon, PVC, and PP are widely used to offer a cost-effective solution, characterized by their light weight, ease of installation, and corrosion resistance. They are best suited for low-pressure and medium-pressure systems, as they may lack the durability required for high-pressure environments. Over time, plastics can become brittle and prone to cracking. Despite being affordable and easily replaceable, they are more susceptible to debris interference, which may lead to blockages.

4- Nickel-plated brass: 

Similar to brass in durability and corrosion resistance, the added nickel plating provides an additional layer of rust resistance. Sometimes it is used as a cover for stainless steel holes, which improves the overall performance of the nozzle.

5- Other insert nozzles: 

The main structure of the nozzle is made of stainless steel with added insert materials to improve wear and corrosion resistance. Several materials are commonly used as inserts, including ruby, ceramic, and TC. This type of nozzle is suitable for high-pressure environments, but it is more expensive and can break easily if not stored properly.
